Jinn Nelson

Jinn is a documentary film editor and writer based in Duluth, MN. They have over seven years of experience editing short films on topics such as public art, economic development, mental health, meditation and conservationism.

Jinn edited the short documentary YOU ARE NOT ALONE (2022) about an ongoing global art initiative supporting mental health awareness through murals and artwork. 

Jinn edited a short documentary about TRY HARD COFFEE (2022), a coffee shop that opened in Austin, Texas during the 2020 pandemic and became a bright spot of support in the community.

In 2024, they edited QUIET IN THE WILD, a poetic short documentary exploring the restorative connection between humanity and nature through the quiet, meditative practice of forest bathing.

Jinn loves exploring new subjects and brings a creative perspective to every project. With a growing interest in nature and conservationism, Jinn took on their first role as director of this film, applying their skills as a storyteller to bring the story of Wendy and her prairie to life.
